Winter's Blanket Night

Turn the key,
Kill the lights;
Silence fills the car
And I sit in that sunken solitude.
Through the glass,
From outside;
Winter's blanket night
Lays upon my ascetic attitude.

Cover me;
Take me beyond the day.

Open the door,
Step on the ground;
Greeted by the chill
I trespass alone among the sleeping.
Walk down the road,
To my new home;
The mist from my mouth
Carries the life internally weeping.

Cover me;
Take me beyond the day,
From the doubt and the sin
And every ill omen,
From pointless confusion
And constant abandon,
Cover my weak vision
From my daily plight-

Winter's blanket night.
