The Muse and The Key

One

From the lineage of nine
Daughters of Mnemosyne,
Never would I have dreamt
To have a Muse of mine.

Yet the dream comes to me
Wherein bearing the Key
To unlock our future
At midnight by the sea.

Two

Inspiration and lore,
Through every age before,
Invoked by Chaucer in
Thirteen seventy four.

She brings purpose to me
With her vitality.
She lays bare the reason
For an artist to be.

Three

Ebulent tenderness,
Compassion effortless;
A woman, a spirit,
Contained in loveliness.

She is all things to me,
Vibrant complexity.
Without equal in kind,
She is her own beauty.

Four

To share a life with her
Forever and after
Is a want that I've had,
Since our first encounter.

She holds the Key to me,
My Muse and wife to be
She opens the doors that
shut creativity.

Five

To you I vow my life
Through serenity and strife
On this journey we take
Elizabeth my wife.

Dance, laugh, and love with me
Let us write our story
Together, as one life
Shared toward our destiny.
